May Showers Update

Rain, rain, rain... our lawn looks great and we're saving $$ on the water bill.

I think we've been sick 2 (maybe 3?) times this month. I lose track after a while.

Our best neighbor and substitute grandma and grandpa, Paul and Beverly are moving to Vero Beach. We are seriously going to miss them! At least they won't be too far away and maybe they can even make it back for Ann and Lynsey's birthday party in July.

Ann finished up preschool last week with a music show. Preschool was great and we all loved it. We especially liked sharing the experience with Sydney and Kristie.

Lynsey is crawling all over the place and loves to get into cords and the pantry. She's starting to pull up on furniture and stand. She waves hello and good-bye, says uh-oh and ma-ma-ma.

In other very, very sad news... I woke up Sunday morning to a beeping computer. I restarted only to find a gray screen with blinking question mark file folder. Sigh. My hard drive had gone bad. We took it to a repair technician and he repaired my computer with a new hard drive, but was unable to recover any data from my old HD. This was a huge blow as I had not backed up certain work for about 2 months! So, my old HD is with another technician who we have used over the years and I'm hoping (and praying) that he can recover data. It will take several more days to know for sure but it's not likely. Meanwhile this caused us to realize how old our 'work' computers are. So we decided to bite the bullet and buy "new" used computers. I prefer to buy last years model so you don't lose so much by driving it off the car lot if you know what I mean. We also need to look into various automatic backup systems out there and invest in one of those so we can avoid this problem in the future.

It's been a distracting, disorganized week as we tried to figure out what to do, what can be done, and how to get back to work! Arg.

Oh - and our 8 year anniversary was Tuesday. Happy Anniversary Caleb! :) We had a date night planned for last night, but our babysitting family had a sick child that Ann was excited to see. So we decided to postpone until he is feeling better.

Work portfolio

Every so often - I get the urge to update my portfolio and it's hard for me to do anything else until it's done. DesignByStacy.com. I didn't realize how much new stuff I had over the last year or so. And how much of it was worth showing (at least I think so). Enjoy. :)

At the dinner table

This is my video blog lately. :) I have uploaded 4 short ones (check out the video bar to the left).

Video 1: There is a little sibling rivalry going on around here. Ann wanted me to video her eating since I took one of Lynsey (which is next). So I set the camera on the table and started it rolling. It's probably entertaining for me and Grandma, and that's about it.

Video 2: About 2 weeks ago Lynsey didn't want me to feed her the baby food, so I started giving her the spoon. Before I knew it - she was picking it up and putting the food in her mouth. At first I had to wiggle the spoon from her grip to give her another bite - but now she drops it so I can get her more food.

Video 4: I was cleaning out the high chair this week and Ann decided to pop into it. A little role reversal for Ann and Lyns.

Sidenotes: In the last month Lynsey has become a huge Daddy's girl. If she sees him, she'll fuss and cry until he holds her. It's a nice break for me.
